Fall 2010
The Fall months on the farm are a beautiful time of year. The apple trees are full of delicious
fruit waiting for the Buses to roll in. The bright orange Pumpkins are pushing through there
vines and the Popcorn and Sweetpotatoes are growing for the November harvest.
Below you will find a chart of Farm tours and dates that are available. Further down the
page is the explanation of each tour.

Costs:
- $9.50 per person for the regular tour
- $11.50 per person for the Deluxe Tour
- $2.50 per person Discovery Barnyard upgrade
- There is a minimum of 15 people to make a reservation
- One free person per 15 paid
All tours include a hayride, picking of the seasonal crops and containers to take them home, use of our picnic area, animal feeding and play time in the Animal Farm, coloring sheets and teacher information. There is also a brand new restroom facility for group use. The Discovery Barnyard is not included in regular or deluxe tours. It can be added to these tours for an upgrade charge of $2.50 per person.

Apple Picking Hayride - Aug. 28th to Oct. 8th
Fall arrives a little early here with apple picking beginning at the end of August. This is a great way to usher in a new season while still enjoying the outdoors. This tour includes a hayride to the apple orchard where a variety of apples await you. Each person will get to pick 4 apples to take home.

Pumpkin Picking - Sept. 11th to Oct. 31st
Our fields burst with pumpkins beginning the middle of September until October 31st. This is our longest running and most popular tour. We provide a hayride to our pumpkin patch but before you arrive there is "low key" corn maze to maneuver through. You enter into a bountiful beauty of color as you select just the right pumpkin. Everyone leaves the field with a pumpkin.

Deluxe Apple/Pumpkin Picking Hayride - Sept. 11th to Oct. 8th
Combine these two crops for full FALL on the farm experience. If one crop is not enough for your group why not do both?

Popcorn & Sweet Potatoes- Nov. 1st to Nov.21st
Immediately following our pumpkin season we begin to harvest popcorn, cotton and dig for sweet potatoes. This tour begins November 1st and concludes right before Thanksgiving. This is a fabulous, educational tour. It begins with a hayride to the popcorn field. Children learn how popcorn grows and pick 4 ears to take home. Then they take a short walk to dig for sweet potatoes. How awesome for children to see firsthand where their food comes from! .
Back at the Warm Greenhouse we provide a demonstration of how apples are pressed to make cider (everyone gets a sample to try), we show children how farmers in the olden days shelled corn. We also teach the children about popcorn and sweet potatoes. This is a wonderful fun and educational experience.
During this time of year lunch can be enjoyed in our heated greenhouse. Johnson's Farm is a Great Place to Learn!!!!!!
